EMG’s competitive advantage in the Atlantic Canada advertising market is its position as a pioneer offering advertisement and informative content via elevator screens. Unlike traditional1 means of advertisement, EMG’s screens target a concentrated demographic with a statistically constant rate of traffic. These two elements enable advertisers to properly diagnose its potential market and strategize accordingly.
Although EMG is a pioneer in Atlantic Canada, this type of advertising/content media is not completely new. For the last ten years Captivate Network has been operating in the US providing advertisement and other content through elevator installed screen. Primarily located in urban commercial high rises, its market share is almost unchallenged. This lack of competition has, in essence, produced a clearly generic product.
